Grouting artificial grout lines

Rupen Dave 05/11/2026 - 8.04 AM

I have a 300mm by 600mm tile that is made to look like 15 tiles with fake grout lines. Can these fake lines be grouted please? you can see the ceramic red/brown in the gap between the green sub tiles. https://www.wholesaledomestic.com/nexti-emerald-31-6cm-x-60cm-ceramic-wall-tile/

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, I'm pretty sure the Faux grout lines on these can be grouted. usually if the glaze isn't visible on the faux grout lines then you can. Because the depth of the grout lines will be a lot shallower than the real grout lines.. it might be worth keeping the real grout lines a little tighter than you'd first think.. so they all match up.

Yes, the artificial grout lines can usually be grouted, but make sure they’re recessed and unglazed. I recommend using a fine-grain flexible grout and testing a small area first. As the grooves are quite shallow, make sure the grout bonds properly.
