New toilet - weak flush

Anonymous user 02/11/2026 - 2.06 PM

I have had a new toilet installed in a Nuie lunar unit. There is square dual flush button on the front cabinet with a clip on connection that attaches to a yellow cable inside unit. The water fills up to jut under overflow pipe. When you press the big button the flush is so weak and it barely empties the water with just over half water emptying. Not much difference to the half flush. If you hold the buttons in the flush is a bit more water but still weak , barely flushing even a small bit loo roll away. I’m having nightmare getting installer back out as they don’t feel there is an issue and was just going to pay to have someone else fix it properly. Would everything need replaced and what would cause this weak flush ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Changing the flush mechanism within the cistern would help, from your description of the flush plate im guessing cistern is concealed?

Hi, from what you’ve described, it sounds like the problem could be with the flush mechanism or the cable connected to the button. It might just need adjusting, especially as you mentioned more water comes out when you hold the button down. I’d check the cable and flush valve first before replacing anything. Hopefully it’s a simple fix and won’t need any new parts.
