Kitchen Fitting

American Faucet into BSP Kitchen Angle Valve

Anonymous user 05/11/2026 - 8.05 AM

Hi, I ordered an American faucet: Kraus Taurak KPF-2840SFBB , the manual says the water lines are using 3/8" compression nut fitting, FEMALE. BUT, every single adapter I have tried to use has not worked, nothing fits into it. Everything is too big. The BSP angle valve is a standard 1/2" male. Please help!

The problem is that American 3/8” compression is different from UK 3/8” BSP, so standard UK reducers won’t fit. You need a 1/2” BSP female to US 3/8” compression male adapter suitable for a faucet hose, with the correct sealing seat. Make sure it specifically says US 3/8” compression, not 3/8” BSP. You’ll need one for the hot and one for the cold supply.

The issue is that American 3/8” compression fittings aren’t the same as UK BSP threads. You’ll need a 3/8” US compression male to 1/2” BSP female adaptor, specifically designed for this connection. Standard UK 3/8” BSP adaptors won’t fit. I recommend checking with a specialist plumbing supplier and making sure the connection seals correctly before use.
