Opening up a closed chimney breast

Anonymous user 16/10/2026 - 12.01 PM

I currently have a chimney breast that is closed and plastered. I want to open it up and insert an electric stove so that it looks like a real log burner. Do I need to go through building control or planning to do this

No you don't need planning control just open it up and make good any brickwork and flooring .and sweep the chimney than cover the top and fit a air vent
