Ask a questionBathroom Fitting
Wetroom upgrade

I have a wetroom formerly designed for the previous disabled owner, it has safety vinyl covering the whole room, I understand fitting a shower tray may need to change the drainage. Is there an option of keeping where the drainage is but just tiling the floor, there is also an electric shower that I would like to replace and move the shower to where the original plumbing currently is yet closed off and with a glass screen, is this more or less complicated then having a shower tray

Hi Linda,
Yes, it may be possible to keep the existing drainage position and replace the safety vinyl with floor tiles, provided the drainage, floor structure and waterproofing are suitable.
A tiled wet room would need proper waterproofing and the correct floor slope to ensure water drains away safely.
Installing a shower tray may be simpler in some cases, but it depends on the existing drainage and plumbing layout. Moving the shower to the original plumbing position and fitting a glass screen should also be possible, subject to inspection.
I’d be happy to arrange a site visit to assess the options and recommend the most practical and cost-effective solution, then provide you with a quotation.
Kind regards
