Safe removal of patio door frame and installation of internal doors where extension begins
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.43 PM
An extension was put on the lower ground floor in the 70s. The aluminium frame of what was the patio doors at the end of the through lounge has been left in. Can the frame be safely removed without impacting structure? Additional Question:- Who can I get in (what kind of person) to confirm this can be done as don't want to take the risk?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi,
There should be some sort of RSJ or beam holding the weight of the structure or it would have been too much weight for the door to withstand (considering the works were carried out correctly).
To replace this with internal doors (I am assuming wooden doors of some sort) the best guys to use are carpenters. A skilled one will make quick work of this.
Hope this helps,
