Gas Works

Position of a gas cooker in a kitchen

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.43 PM

Some advice please.. I am just about to rent out my house but have been advised by the enviromental health that my gas cooker needs repositioning as per the Housing Act 2004, my property is an end terrace with a galley kitchen and the gas cooker is to the left of the door leading into the back yard. I have looked through the housing act but cannot find anything specific to gas cookers.. Also if it is the case does anyone know if this would be different if I was to install a electric cooker? Thanks in advance

Hi,a good reference point would be R D Treloar page 326 book found in most college libraries, however best to consult an approved gas engineer . cheers Dai

Give a local GAS SAFE engineer a call, most will be happy to advise free of charge, or will visit for a small nominal fee.
