Bricklaying & Repointing

Air brick

Michael 05/10/2026 - 8.03 AM

Hello I’ve just moved in a house and the back room has a few problem areas could be salts, just feels cold and tacky. I’ve noticed the front has air bricks but the back hasn’t, and it’s the wall that has salts on it but I did use a salt neutroliser and it seems to be ok it’s just a few other areas just above skirting board. But I’m thinking is it a good idea to get an air brick installed.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes an air brick sounds like it’s required . Also check to see if dpc is present , normally approx 150 mm up from outside ground level.
