Plug in solar

Have been thinking of plug in solar,1000w solar panels to rear of garage connected to ecoflow stream ultra X inside garage, plugged into garage electrical socket. The fuse box is the old metal box with wired fuse variety,this leads under ground then down the side of my house inside a plastic conduit, then into the external meter box. It is not connected to my house consumer unit. I definitely know the garage fuse box will need updated. But need to know is this even a viable way of plug in solar since it's not connected to my consumer unit ?

The Eco Stream Ultra X is not compliant for plug in solar in the UK, only complete kits without battery storage are at present. You could still get this installed as a G98 notification unless you are only looking at options without requiring an Electrician. What you are proposing would require the Eco stream hard wired to its own circuit and thus a qualified Electrician. Plug in solar also requires G98 notification but can be installed diy because obviously you just plug it in a socket. The consumer unit in the garage will need upgrading but it doesn’t matter that the cable doesn’t go to your consumer unit. You could also wait, it is generally believed battery storage will be allowed at some point for plug in solar but that could be a year or two down the line.
