Plug hole screw wont loosen

If the screw in the bath plug won’t budge and the screwdriver won’t bite, it usually means the retaining screw is seized or stripped, so instead of fighting it you’re better off undoing the waste from underneath by removing the trap, which lets you take the whole assembly apart without touching the screw, and if access is tight you can simply cut the waste out and replace it.
