patio causing damp in the house

Anonymous user 17/09/2026 - 8.52 AM

hi, The patio at the back of my flat is causing the flat to be damp, it seems to be to high. Can i fix this with a french drain or do i need a whole new patio at a lower level?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Without seeing job. Can't say but its always best to keep it 2 bricks below damp.or leave a 4inch gap between patio and house

It really depends on the existing patio levels and where the damp is coming from. Some Aco/Channel drainage may solve the issue, but if the patio is too high against the property, it may need lowering.
