Hi. I've had a quote of a company for bathroom who want a deposit. On the quote it has the company name and Ltd at the end. The account for the deposit is a personal account. Also I cannot find these on companies house, so a bit concerned about the Ltd and personal account

Dear Sirs I would be a little cautious before paying the deposit. If they are trading as a limited company, you should normally be able to find their company details on Companies House. I would ask them for their company registration number and also why the deposit is being paid into a personal account rather than a business account. There may be a genuine explanation, but I would want everything confirmed properly before making any payment. Also check their insurance, reviews and business address. If they cannot provide clear company details, I personally wouldn’t pay the deposit until I was fully satisfied.
