Loose flooring

Paul Holness 08/09/2026 - 9.36 AM

I have a tenant with the floor in the bathroom that has movement. Don’t know if it’s floor boards or joists or something else

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hard to say without looking. But rotten joists, floor boards or chipboard are often found when renovating old bathrooms.

If this is noisy/squeek sound and only slight movement this could be the floorboards that have come away anything more than this it could be the joists moved or maybe a joint in the floorboards thats as a support timber in place and was not fastened correctly
