What catagory of tradesperson is qualified to alter yellow external mdpe gas pipe on private property. Ie. Similar to relaying an external water pipe, but this involves live gas connections with yellow mdpe pipe.

To alter a live yellow MDPE external gas pipe in the UK, the qualified trade is a Gas Safe Registered Engineer certified in Polyethylene (PE) Pipework & Electrofusion.
Post-meter (private pipework): Gas Safe registered heating/gas engineer with PE pipework qualifications.
Pre-meter (service pipe): Gas Network operator (e.g., Cadent, SGN) or an accredited Gas Utility Infrastructure Provider (UIP).
