Internal door hinges

Anonymous user 27/08/2026 - 3.37 PM

Carpenter is fitting new internal hollow doors, old plain doors had three hinges, he is only using two hinges on new doors, said it should be ok? My question is what works are required to patch up the middle hinges and space around new hinges which are smaller than the previous ones, who will fill the spacing carpenter or decorator?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The carpenter or a decorator will be able to fill it. The carpenter can glue a piece of wood into the space and plane it smooth with the lining. Or the decorator can use a putty/filler to do the same thing.
