Should you be provided with a certificate and service book when a new unvented hot water cylinder is installed by a My builder plumber

The cylinder should be registered with the manufacturer and there should be an installation book and on the back page there will be a service record. If not you can download the page for future reference or it can be done when a trained engineer services your boiler they could do a certificate for the unvented cylinder

Yes, you should receive a benchmark certificate. Dependant on the manufacturer, the certificate and service record can be a sticker on the cylinder, or paper.
