Shower hose connection to mixer

I need to change my shower hose as the previous one started leaking. I have a Mira atom shower. I bought a new shower hose and the outlet connector but when I’ve try and screw in the outlet connector it doesn’t tighten and drops out. Does this mean part of the mixer needs replacing?

Not necessarily. If the new outlet connector screws in but won’t tighten and pulls/drops back out, it sounds more like the connector/thread is incorrect or the internal thread/retaining arrangement has been damaged rather than automatically meaning the whole Mira Atom mixer needs replacing.
