Epoxy kitchen and small toilet floor
Anonymous user 24/08/2026 - 8.12 AM
I have a tiled kitchen and small downstairs toilet and very small walkway/entrance. The grout is all chipped and horrible and had been since it was laid. Some of the tiles are also slightly uneven making it hard to properly clean. Is epoxy a solution and where is the best place to start looking for this

You are having movement issues, subfloor was not prep properly, that why the grout and tiles are failing, epoxy will not be enough it will still fail, are the tiles installed on wood floor?

Yes, a self-leveling epoxy or resin floor coating can cover existing tiles and smooth out minor unevenness while creating a seamless, easy-to-clean surface with no grout lines. However, the existing tiles must be thoroughly cleaned, degreased, and lightly abraded (sanded) to ensure proper adhesion, and deep lips or severe unevenness may require a preliminary leveling compound.
