Fan oven tripping main switchboard

Anonymous user 14/08/2026 - 7.58 AM

Had a dual fuel cooker installed last week by a gas engineer, who also hardwired the appliance. Yesterday went to use the fan oven and grill for the first time since installation and every time I switch the oven/ grill on it trips the main electric switchboard, so cannot use the oven or grill. What could be causing this?

It could be incorrect wiring or an earth fault within the cooker, possibly a faulty heating element. Stop using it and contact the installer to check the connection and test the appliance. If they aren’t electrically qualified, use a registered electrician.
