My water pump on my central heating is on constantly as if it has a permanent live or getting wrong message from thermostat or control panel. Any ideas how to rectify ?

It could be the programmer has lost its memory or either the tank thermostat or room thermostat are not functioning correctly. The pump only comes on when there’s a call for heat.
