You have posted a quote price request on the anonymous question part of the platform and prices are very dependent on your location. To answer your other questions yes would need to look at the consumer unit, the circuit must have RCD protection present to install new sockets. Also it would require plastering / making good. Price will vary on location and if the consumer unit is up to date, worse case scenario you could be looking at a new consumer unit or more work than just adding the sockets. We also need to check bonding is in place for water and gas if applicable. Also existing circuit needs testing. This is an area most home owners get a shock (pun intended) they think it is just adding a couple of sockets but there is much more to it than that and can be problematic when dealing with very old installations.

This is very much dependent on the amount of work involved. If you want the sockets in the fabric of the building, then you will need plastering work in the absence of any alternative methods. The installation would need to comply with BS 7671 and therefore your fuse board and protective devices would need to be at a sufficient standard to meet the current version, not previous versions of the regulations, as this would be an installation job. It is our experience at the moment that people far underestimate the cost of both material and labour.

Probably cost anywhere between 250-400 depending on cable runs, and chasing in runs. That makes up the time really. If I could see some photos I could help more
