If ivy has grown into the cavity, it’s important to remove it carefully to avoid bridging the cavity and causing damp issues. Depending on the extent of the growth, this can usually be carried out by an experienced builder or bricklayer. In some cases, a few bricks may need to be removed to gain access before being reinstated afterwards.
It’s worth having the cavity inspected first to determine the best method of removal before any work is carried out.
