Putting a wooden roof on a conservatory.
Anonymous user 03/08/2026 - 11.10 AM
We have a conservatory on the back of the house. It’s about 25-30 years old and all the windows have failed. The roof is ok. We were thinking about taking all the glazing out and trying to turn it into an outdoor seating area. Ideally, we were thinking about having a wooden roof installed and wooden podiums in to hold it up. I just wanted to know whether this is something that people have done and there are tradespeople out there that specialise in it, or whether it would be a more of a bespoke project.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Very bespoke project as the roof would need heavily securing so it doesn’t get blown off as it will have no ventilation
