Painting spardash

Hi, absolutely no problem painting over spardash. I'd start by jetwashing to remove dirt and algae, then paint away. I like a box brush for this job, and a 2" brush for the window reveals- You will need natural bristle brushes, synthetic will self-destruct in the first 5 minutes. Be aware that as you paint bits of chipping will fall off, so thoroughly cover the ground, and any nearby cars. As to paint, any exterior masonry paint is fine, though I prefer thicker paints like granocryl or sandtex smooth. Also, this surface will eat paint- you'll probably need twice as much as for a smooth wall. Two coats are required, and you'll find the second much quicker than the first! Good luck!

Yea brush down loose stones and dirt, wash down if your able to. Patch repair any missing areas with sand and cement with waterproofer. Dulux Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint, it becomes shower-resistant after about 30 minutes. In the UK the weather is so changeable. Two good coats with a masonry roller.
