Convert a cellar space into a utility space

Charlie 16/07/2026 - 9.12 AM

Hi. We have a large cellar separated into different rooms and we'd like to convert the smaller room into a utility space for a wshiny machine and a toilet and sink (if possible). Not sure if tanking is needed, not sure where to start. Do we speak to a builder, a plumber or someone else. Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello, You should start by contacting a specialist basement conversion company or a main builder who handles damp proofing, followed by a plumber for the fixtures. You will need tanking to stop water damage, and a saniflo pump if the toilet is below the main drain.
