Damping bathroom ceiling

Anonymous user 14/07/2026 - 2.16 PM

I noticed the ceiling of the upstairs bathroom is damp and feels wet to the touch. There is currently no dripping water, but the moisture appears to be affecting the whole ceiling rather than just one small area. I am trying to identify the likely cause and the best next steps. Has anyone experienced a similar issue, and what checks or professionals would you recommend contacting first?

Try looking in the loft to see if anything is leaking, lift up fibreglass to check if plasterboard is wet, have you got a fan in your bathroom, could be condensstion
