cripple or pony wall supporting floor joist

Bill 27/06/2026 - 9.21 AM

I am designing a 24 ft x 44 ft house with crawl space and a 2 x 6 pony wall down center on a 8" x 18" continuous footing. Is this pony wall adequate for supporting the above floor based on 50 lbs. per sq. ft?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes this would be adequate as you are only supporting the floor, it would be different if you were supporting walls directly above as this would mean a more substantial supporting wall from the foundation.
