Limescale buildup

Anonymous user 18/06/2026 - 10.05 AM

I recently had to get some emergency plumbing done due to toilet blockage and needing a seal replaced in the pipe. But I am still getting a limescale build up in the bottom of the toilet bowl. Previously spirit of salts cleared it but no impact this time. Could this be sign of a deeper issue or that the undertaken work wasn't properly done? The limescale issue did precede the work and has been a long term issue

You could install a scale reducer on your cold. I believe there are some sort of tablets that you can put in your cistern to reduce scale build up also. There is also a chemical bleach called harpic in a black bottle available from most supermarkets. This could sort it if you leave it over night and then just use it regularly to prevent further build up.
