Sliding Wardrobe doors

Anonymous user 18/06/2026 - 10.07 AM

My mirrored wardrobe doors keep coming off the rails. Now they won’t budge. Is this an easy job to fix or would I need to replace the lot?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, this is usually a straightforward repair rather than a full replacement. Sliding wardrobe doors often come off the rails due to worn rollers, damaged guides, loose tracks or misalignment. In many cases the doors can be refitted and adjusted, although replacement rollers or track components may be needed

Easy enough fix I’d imagine it’s sliders have gone with to shutting it to hard. New one should set you back between £10-£30 each depending on the type. Hope this helps

Yes it’s a easy job to fix, they just need adjusting and locking into place

Hi, this sounds like an adjustment issue. Most slider mechanisms have some height/level adjustment screws on the top of the doors that may just need some attention.

It sounds like the rail could be damaged. Check that the rail is free from obstructions. Failing that, It might need a new rail or runner. The doors should be fine.

Easy fix could just be loose off the rail and needs putting back in place

It could be something simple like the doors coming off the runners or the rollers needing adjustment. I wouldn't replace anything until it's been checked first, as many wardrobe door issues can be repaired.
