Question on door fitting

Anonymous user 19/06/2026 - 2.49 PM

Hello, I'm planning to replace my front door and rear french doors. Should I be looking to hire someone who will replace/fit the doors after acquiring the doors myself, or looking at someone who I would also acquire doors from and can measure up in advance?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Unless you have knowledge and know where to source the materials if might be a good idea to work with your chosen tradesperson who should be able to advise and help you choose something suitable.

It is highly recommended to work with a professional who can handle both measurement and procurement of the doors.  When a tradesperson supplies the doors, they take full responsibility for accurate measurements, correct specifications, and the fit. If you buy the doors yourself and there is a manufacturing defect or a slight sizing error, you will likely face additional costs for re-ordering or adjustments. Furthermore, getting both supply and fit from the same specialist usually comes with a full comprehensive warranty for your peace of mind.  Hope this helps! Let me know if you would like some assistance with measuring or choosing the right doors.
