Built in oven touching gas pipe
christine anderson 08/06/2026 - 12.58 PM
Hi. I originally had a freestanding gas cooker. Got that removed and the gas capped off. Did some work to the units to install a built in oven. Got the oven but realised its right up against the gas pipe at the back. Is this safe? I have googled endlessly but just seen a lot of conflicting advice. Thanks.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

providing the gas pipe has been capped off with a soldered cap end and not a compression nut cap end, its fine. As if it were with a compression cap end, it would need to be accessible.
