Lining paper v plastering

Depending on what's been used to stick the lining paper up it might be hard to remove it all without damaging the boards. If you have the money to replace the boards then you'll save yourself a lot of time and effort. Either that or you could just repair all the damaged paper and use Easyfill to remove all the butt joints and damaged surfaces. Then repaint .. This would save yourself bundles of time and money.. All Depends how far you want to go and how deep your pockets are..

It will allow the plasterer to see the condition of the plasterboard underneath and assess what preparation is needed. In most cases, the existing plasterboard can be skimmed over once the paper has been removed, and replacement is only needed if the boards are badly damaged or have been affected by moisture. Yes all ways remove all paper ready to plaster. But in some cases you can go over it. ( we only go over it when we use Airless plaster. After trying TEST patch.
