Lime Render Gable End

Hello, I have a gable end that needs lime rendering, the blue lias stone is suffering from decay in areas, would it be ok to render or seek advise from a stone mason? Thanks for any help

I would personally clean it up the best u can then use metal lathing EML,or maybe slurry over the top,before applying lime render,there are natural primers u can buy before applying lime as well

I would remove all loose and viable stone then apply to coats of lime render using 3.5lime

Remove loose material and lime plaster over ensure to fill any voids properly.
Build out the lime.
Lime putty (non-hydraulic lime is the most breathable and sympathetic to natural stone.
NHL (natural hydraulic lime) has been proven to act very similarly to cement as it gets stronger over time.
Always worth getting an experienced lime plasterer and having a chat about the available options and the reasons behind them to best suit your location and situation
