Yes, PVC wall panels can normally be fitted over existing tiles as long as the tiles are solid and the wall is flat. The surface needs cleaning properly first and all edges/joints must be sealed well to keep it waterproof. It’s a quicker and less messy option than removing tiles.

Yes, you can fit PVC wall panels directly over existing tiles in a walk-in shower, and it is one of the most popular reasons people choose them — it avoids the mess and cost of a full tile removal. There are a few things to check before you go ahead. The existing tiles must be fully secure. Press across the entire surface and listen for any hollow spots or feel for any movement. Any loose or cracked tiles need to be re-adhered or removed before you panel over them, because the PVC will flex over a void and the adhesive bond will eventually fail. The surface must be clean and dry. Any soap scum, mould, or grease will prevent the adhesive from bonding properly. Clean the tiles thoroughly with a sugar soap or degreaser and allow them to dry completely — at least 24 hours. Use the right adhesive. A solvent-free grab adhesive or a silicone-based adhesive recommended by the panel manufacturer is essential. Do not use standard tile adhesive. Apply it in vertical beads to the back of the panel, press firmly into place, and use masking tape to hold the panel while the adhesive cures. Seal every joint and edge with a matching silicone sealant, particularly at the tray, corners, and any cut edges. This is the most important step — water getting behind the panels is the only real risk with this installation method. Done correctly, PVC panels over tiles are a clean, durable, and watertight finish that will last many years in a shower environment. — Abel, Director

Yes they can be fitted over tiles as long as the tiles are solid enough and sealed. This can help with cost of stripping out and removal of rubbish.
