As in the title, I'd like to know if the tie beams can be left in place when you carry out a loft conversion?.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Why would you leave them in? It would make moving around the space very difficult. The collars are usually removed - but be warned this should only be done by a qualified tradesman and structural engineers details.
