Logic combi boiler & wired hive no display or won’t come on

Shane 13/04/2026 - 8.00 AM

No display on both, not having hot water or heating. There’s no main on off switch for the boiler. Property is gas pre payment meter. Was working previously, gas credit run out and then it all went off, then didn’t top up whilst we was decorating the new house, topped the credit up last night and nothing is coming on. Tried the gas hob can smell gas when I turn the knob but no ignition.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Check if you have a prepaid electricity meter, it may need to be topped up. If it is OK, reset the boiler using the reset button.

t sounds like the boiler may have gone into lockout after the gas ran out. Sometimes it needs a manual reset once the supply is restored. However, as this involves gas appliances, I would strongly recommend a Gas Safe registered engineer to check and safely restart the system.

I assume boiler has gone to lock out and you need to hold the dial to the reset for a few seconds in the logic’s. Turning off and on won’t clear the error. You should get an error code when you power off and back on though. If your not getting a display on both I would also check the fused spur. Ignore the comments about the permanent live, it can’t be in the wrong position as stated it was working prior to no gas.
