Gap in LVT floor & pipe boxing due to toilet waste pipe
Anonymous user 07/04/2026 - 8.12 AM
My LVT floor has been cut too wide around the toilet waste pipe & my pipe boxingbehind the toilet had been cut to allow the waste pan connector to sit (it sits inside the gap slightly). The gaps are significant at the bottom & smaller along the top of the pan connector. How can I seal this? It looks terrible & spiders crawl in.

If the gaps are quite large, standard silicone alone won’t give you a good finish. The best approach is to first fill the bigger voids with expanding foam or a backing filler, then trim it back once set.
After that, use a good quality sanitary silicone to seal around the pipe and edges. This will give you a clean, flexible, waterproof finish and stop anything getting through.
For a neater job, you can also fit a pipe collar or cover plate over the waste pipe, which hides the cut edges and gives a much more professional look.

If you look in Screwfix they sell a surround to go around soil pipe which give approx 40mm coverage and it’s white
