Mounting a 20KG electric radiator on wall
Susie 25/03/2026 - 7.35 AM
I’m not sure which tradesman would I need to contact to mount a heavy 20KG of oil filled electric radiator on my living room wall.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

For mounting a heavy 20kg oil-filled electric radiator, the safest and most appropriate tradesperson to contact is a qualified electrician, as they can both securely fix the unit to the wall and handle any electrical work if it needs to be hardwired; while a handyman could potentially mount it if it’s a simple plug-in model, the weight and potential need for proper electrical installation mean an electrician is usually the better and safer choice, especially to ensure everything is fitted correctly and meets UK safety standards.

Most competent plumbers or sparkys can hang a heavy rad on the wall. It's all about the fixings. If a stud wall, you have to mount the brackets on the timber behind the plasterboard. If solid brick or concrete, then long screws at least 75mm 10s or threaded bolts will do but gauge the correct wall plugs sizes.

Electrician would be best for this. They can safely mount it and handle any wiring if needed 👍
