Cavity wall insulation removal

Hello we need to send a surveyor as we need to check to see if the cavity is filled with mineral wool or Thermabead. The reason we ask because if it is Thermabead it has been bonded with adhesive and won’t be able to be removed. If it is mineral wool we can check what condition it is as they give you 25 years but after that time it starts to drop down. If that’s the case we need to extract and replace with new. We are fully qualified to extract and refill cavity wall. We offer a free survey.

It’s probably best to get a thermal image done to see where the cold spots are just drilling a hole and using a camera doesn’t mean that area is failing if it’s been done recently then you can allways have it re blown if it’s old then it would have to extracted and re insulated most insulation companies can carry out inspections for you here is a few companies that may be able to help Insta group A&m and max energy

I’d be able to advise you by inspecting the original drill pattern and a few of the existing drill holes with a borescope camera. This should help identify any faults or issues and give us a better idea of what’s going on.
