Who chases wires into a wall after trunking has been used.
Anonymous user 13/03/2026 - 7.57 AM
I have two double plug sockets with trunking running down the wall, I am considering getting the wires chased into the walls before I start decorating. Who does this job is it an electrician/a plasterer or can a handyman do this.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Most of the time this job is done by an electrician. The electrician will remove the trunking, chase the cables into the wall, and install them safely.
Afterwards the wall can be filled or plastered, either by the electrician or a plasterer before decorating

An electrician would normally do this job — they can safely move the cables and install the sockets in the wall to make sure everything is done correctly and meets regulations.
After that, a plasterer can fill and finish the wall ready for decorating.
