Chimney & Fireplace

upstairs have removed chimney breast so can i remove mine downstairs?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.43 PM

In my ground floor flat kitchen i have a chimney breast that i want to remove. When i went upstairs to visit the 1st floor flat i noticed that the chimney breast above mine has been removed. Does this mean i can easily remove my chimney breast as it doesnt support anything anymore or would i still need to think about using some kind of support/rsj.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi if the breast has been removed from above yours then you can remove yours without any support what so ever.the person in the flat above you has done all the hard work by supporting the chimney stack
