Waste pipe in my kitchen ceiling

I have a massive waste pipe in my ceiling thats seems to be not connected can i remove it. I luve a block of flats and my upstairs dont have it

If it’s not connected at both ends it can be removed. But you would have to make sure it’s not connected to a fan in your property (from bathroom or kitchen). Or could be soil vent pipe from flat above. So be careful, personally I would get a tradesman to check first.

Even if the pipe seems unused or "not connected," it may still serve as a vent for the drainage stack, or it could be an old, disused pipe that is legally protected under "prescription" if it has been there for a long time.
