Pressure clean has damaged K-Rend - Likely repair fees?

Anonymous user 28/01/2026 - 8.00 AM

Unfortunately our window cleaner used a high pressure washer on our relatively new K-rend extension, which has damaged part of the joins to the patio doors. I'd not want to attempt this myself for making a likely pigs ear of it. Is this likely to be a costly fix? Is it a case of new render being put atop or another solution?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

K rend as a product is very hard to patch due to the fact it gives such a tight finish, depending on the size you could try to patch by cutting a reasonable area out of the render and replace with new. Blending can be difficult because of the grainy properties but is achievable with a competent renderer, do not expect it to be like new but it will reduce the attention of the damage made

Yes k Rend is hard to match when repairs are needed. You should claim off the window cleaners insurance negligence not understanding the nature of what he was doing.

You would be better patching it an seeing if you have a bucket still of the k rend with the product code on for same colour. Then get a k rend paint and paint the whole extension so the colour matches up all around.

Krend cant be patched unless its recently done and not weathered but for a perfect job strip back and start again

Hi. Sadly I feel covering the render would be the only way to cover damage. That's the downside to k-rend/silicon based materials. They can rarely be patched without showing.
