Amtico LVTs installation in new-builds.
Anonymous user 26/01/2026 - 8.03 AM
Hi, I have to install glue on Amtico Spacia LVTs in the flat in the newly completed high-rise building. It was completed just few weeks ago. It was previously carpet there, which I have removed. How do I make sure that the moisture in the underlying concrete is appropriate for the LVTs (before applying leveling latex compound)? Thanks.

Use a Tramex or similar moisture meter specifically for flooring slab if salad and s dry latex over for a smooth finish and once dty on line with manufacturer recommendation lay LVT or any issues with slab. As below
belt and braces latex over with Ardex na or stopgap 1200 then apply DPM again Ardex or Ball two part then latex over as again as above give 24 -48 hours and check with tramex or similar flooring meter until floor is suitably dry in all areas inline with lVT manufacture recommend guidelines

Do an in-situ RH moisture test (hygrometer)
• Concrete must be ≤75% RH (check Amtico/adhesive specs)
• If higher → apply a surface DPM
• Then apply latex levelling compound
• Only glue LVT after limits are met

Call a professional Floorlayer for them to check the floor should take around 24 hours to get a proper reading with the correct equipment
