Quickest way to renew my kitchen without changing the layout, plumbing, sockets etc
Hon Ming Chan 01/12/2025 - 11.55 AM
What is the quickest way to renew my kitchen without chaning the layout, plumbing, sockets etc? Changing the doors and worktop while keeping the base units? How feasible it is usually, like are all brands compatible with other brands? Do Howdens or Wren offer similar options? And lastly how quick it could be, and how quicker it is compared to buying a whole new kitchen?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The quickest and most effective way to revamp your kitchen is to change all the doors and drawer fronts, as well as the worktops. New appliances, sink and oven will help too. It would be best to employ someone who can help you through the process, ordering / making the doors / new drawers. Problems may arise if the base units are not sound enough to handle the upheaval.

Yes howdens doors fit any base or wall hung units, sockets can have new face plates and plumbing can be changed easy if needed. It's usually around a 1/3 of the cost , depending on the kitchen ofcourse and the changes :)

Yes — the quickest way to renew a kitchen without changing layout, plumbing or electrics is to keep the carcasses and replace:
Doors
Worktops
Handles / end panels / trims (if needed)
Feasibility:
Very feasible if your existing units are standard sizes and in good condition. Most doors from third-party suppliers can fit many brands, but not all brands are cross-compatible, so measurements must be exact.
Howdens / Wren:
Howdens can supply doors and worktops via a trade account, but they don’t specialise in “replacement-only” for homeowners.
Wren mainly sells full kitchens, not door-only refreshes.
For refresh projects, most people use specialist door-replacement suppliers instead.
Speed:
Door + worktop refresh: usually 1–3 days.
Full new kitchen: usually 2–3 weeks or more.

If your units are in good condition especially the unit under the sink as its more prone to water damage ,change the doors check your measurements , there are a lot of kitchen door outlets online . Change your worktop , appliances if required .When pulling out the worktop carful not to break any wall tiles !!!
