Damp Proofing

Rising Damp in Living Room

Clarissa Lim 24/11/2025 - 4.16 PM

We have been in the process of stripping wallpaper and found a small damp patch in the bottom orner of the living room about 6cm high. No mold and rest of the walls seem fine. The damp area is plastered masonry and we have no fines concrete exterior walls. There is some damage at the bottom of the wall where some plastering has come away and we can see the no fines concrete. The heating has also not been running as the property is unoccupied - if heating was on would it help at all? The radiator pipes run directly below the damp patch. We're planning to check the exterior to see if there's any visible damage but what should our course of action be? We want to prevent it spreading/getting worse and are worried this could potentially be costly. Thank you
