Your first move should be to get your DNO to come out check your earth. Assuming you are on a TNS earth system they have an obligation to maintain the Earth. If you are on a TT adding more earth rods will lower your Ze earth reading.

Hi, 10 ohms is not bad for a TT system, the max permissible for a TT earthing arrangement is 200 ohms. You wouldn’t need to add anymore earth rods to comply. For a TN system though 10 is not good.

Hi David, what is the purpose of this earth rod? If it is for your domestic properties electrical installation, a reading up to 200 ohms is acceptable.

The max permitted external earth fault loop impedance of an earth rod on a TT system is 21 ohms. Although with RCD protection in place this can be raised to 1667 ohms
