Water dripping without rain
Anonymous user 10/11/2025 - 10.02 AM
My house is approximately 60 years old. Above the front door, beneath the roof tiles, there’s a gutter with a drainage pipe(from boiler) below it. Recently, water has been dripping continuously from it—even when it hasn’t rained and even with the boiler turned off. What could be causing this, and how can it be fixed?

I think something is connected to the drain pipe, it could be from the sink or the shower. Check if that's the case. Then we'll have to make sure the connections are properly connected, and if it's a push-fit, it could be that an elbow is faulty or missing fittings.Regards from

This might be overflow water, not necessary to be from a boiler, it could be a water tank in the loft.

Overflow from Cold-Water Storage Tank or Central Heating Header Tank
• In older houses, tanks in the loft can have faulty ball valves that let water continuously trickle into the overflow pipe.
• This would cause constant dripping outside, especially near roof level.
