Bosch Maxx 6 Washing Machine Fuses Burn

Miguel 21/10/2025 - 8.07 AM

Hello My washing machine has been blowing its fuse. The machine is under 10yrs old but still in good condition. The fuse blow out has now occurred 3-4 times. Is it time for a new washing machine or could this a fixable issue? thanks Miguel

The answer is no I’m afraid! The washing machine is a danger ⚠️ as it should be Tripping your RCBO device instantly to prevent electrical shock ⚡️ long before the fuse blowing. It looks like a live to earth failure in the washing machine. So I suggest checking the socket! And replacing your machine. Thanks 🙏 Tom

Hi Miguel, If the washing machine is only tripping when you use it, it could just be a issue with the internal element that has gone faulty, which will cause the RCD/RCBO to trip out. You can try to call an appliance electrician so see if they can fix the issue, which an element can cost from £10-£30 and then labour costs of the appliance electrician. Just a suggestion before you spend £300 on a new washing machine.
