Installation of new oven in galley kitchen

Mark Polglase 04/08/2025 - 11.50 AM

I need a new built in electric oven. The current oven measures H 595mm, W 595mm, D 575mm. The gap between the current oven and the cupboard opposite is 590mm so is that enough space to do the work? I am not looking to change the current (gas) hob. Thank you

Have you considered removing the doors and drawers off the opposite side cupboard? That should increase the space by at least the thickness of the material (16mm-18mm) which will allow you to get the job done.

Your oven size is standard. The 590mm front clearance is likely sufficient but tight. Just make sure: The oven door can open without obstruction. There’s proper clearance for installation and ventilation. Electrical and gas connections are not disrupted. If you'd like, I can recommend ovens that match those dimensions.

Yes, there's enough gap to remove the current oven. If the new oven is of same dimensions, you can easily replace it. For safety precautions, hire a qualified tradesman to replace the electric oven for you. Cheers.
